Ce chapeau appartenait à Gala Dalí elle-même. Elle en fit cadeau, à son retour en France en 1947, après la Seconde guerre mondiale, à sa fille Cécile Éluard. Cette dernière l’offrit à l’un de ses amies proches. En 2013, le Palais Galliera en fit l’acquisition. Au Palais Galliera, le numéro se décline en quatre parties : la racine « GAL » renvoyant au Musée, l’année d’entrée de l’objet (2013), le numéro de la donation ou d’acquisition au sein de cette année et enfin le numéro de l’objet au sein de ce corpus.
This hat belonged to Gala Dalí herself. On her return to France in 1947, after the Second World War, she gave it to her daughter Cécile Éluard. The latter gave it to one of her close friends. In 2013, the Palais Galliera acquired it. At the Palais Galliera, the number is divided into four parts : the root "GAL" referring to the Museum, the year of entry of the object (2013), the number of the donation or acquisition within this year and finally the number of the object within this corpus.
